The “first in - last out” theory. They still had old parts in the bottom of the bins and when stamped-design FPs from outside suppliers ran low, they worked their way down to the older milled parts.
Ahhh ok I understand. It’s hard for me to tell what is supposed to be there vs. what isn’t given the date on the receiver.

I haven't really read karabiner 98K Volume 2A or 2B aside from looking at the rifles and checking markings on things I've bought but if you got the cash I would get those books (Volume 2A & 2B) since that covers A LOT of what you'll find and what I think your looking for as well. Out of some sections I've read, the information provided is endless and has good context and explains production trends etc.

It's quite literally the Holy Bible of K98K collecting. Get a set fast because only 2K books of each volume were made. (Info I read on here from one of the authors that they only made 2K copies of each volume and won't make more due to production costs)

I just last week finally got Kriegsmodell for 250 so now I got the complete series. 250 imo was a steal with the prices I've seen for that volume alone, I've seen them from the 5-700 dollar range.
Holy hell great job!

That much?????? The rare book market is very soft the last decade or more, -my thing (side) has always been as a book dealer, have many thousands of books (use to buy estate holdings which come with a lot of junk... but an extraordinary book here and there...) Mike, Bruce and Hambone did pretty damn well at those second hand prices in the current used book market (though it is very true that specialty fields like firearms collecting are fairly strong at any time... still 500-700 seems remarkable in todays market)

Good for them!

Yeeeah makes me regret being in junior high or a freshman in high school back in 2012 instead of working so I could get all of them at the cheapest price. My next to grab is "Three line rifle too Ukko Pekka" bought two rifles from the author of that book in the past and it's the holy Bible of Finnish Mosin nagant collecting.
