Sportered K98 Byf42 i've picked up here in New Zealand. All matching numbers for what's left, apart from the bolt. There are no import marks on what I can see.

Any info on the eagles on the bolt & its origins would be appreciated. The downward wings on the eagles are earlier production?

There is a solitary #7 on the action here. It matches the bolt s/n. Is this typical of an arsenal re-work or something else?

I don't believe the bolt serial and that little 7 by the receiver bridge are related. Other can correct me if I'm wrong, but that little extra 7 is more than likely some kind Mauser internal process stamp. Similar to the 'lucky charms' that you frequently find on the bottom of K98k receivers.

Hi welcome to the forum. The bolt is from a S243 G [Mauser Werke Borsigwalde] 1935 with the E211 proofs.
I also live in NZ and recently sold 3 complete K98k stock sets on TM-pity? What part of NZ do you live?

How long ago were they on TM? Surprised I missed them. I'm down in Wanaka.
