There would not be any obstacles because the LT & HT Rear Bases are almost indeticle other than one minor difference which can be seen in these pics .
Xavier if You also notice the Front Base profile on the corners are also another tell tale trait that this is an early HT . This can also be found on late BYF43 rifles that were turned into HT. Here is a pic of later HT base for comparison again notice corner cuts . The Front Base on Your HT has corner cuts that are reminiscent of LT Front Base . Also put a pic of a BLC HT Scope with early Front Base and a LT Rear Base
That center screw hold a small piece of spring steal spacer on the Base . I have never understood or been able to figure out what its exact purpose is for but all LT & HT rear bases have this ..
That plate is a flat spring and it's purpose is to take up the vertical clearance between the ring and the base. If it were not present the vertical zero could float.

Yes Georg , I recall that discussion . I am only pointing out that I noticed Xaviers front base is one of these early bases which is likely not noticed by some reading this thread and some may not be aware that there are difference in the HT bases . Its also possible that many new members have no idea that these were discussed or even know that there are minor differences between early and late front HT bases .
