BYF 43, 33433 f block, Walnut, Matching

This a new one for me thanks to one of our valuable members. I love the milling on the receiver. My other byf 43, with a laminated stock, also has the sinter front band. This makes my fifth matching 1943 dated rifle. I really like this year for all manufacturers.

As always, comments welcome.

From the appearance of the bolt face, it has never had a round fired in front of it.

How about some goo pics of the stock? The whole stock.

Looks exceptional and in walnut! Also bluing looks great overall. Love how the walnut take the stamps so well too. Looks like a beauty.

Almost looks “jeweled”. Really neat. Bluing is pristine. Stock appears to have been oiled to death, but is otherwise really nice.

It must be my photographs and lighting. Nothing out of the ordinary. Probably no more than your recent and lovely walnut CE 43. That is a nice example by the way. Congrat, let me know if you ever decide to let it go, :)

Really nice and great photos too! I saw your comment about the 'milling on the receiver' and was thinking "what's he talking about, the machining is beautiful" and then I saw that siderail. Pretty wild.

Damn, that's what they're supposed to look like new? My e block byf 43 looks absolutely dogged compared to yours  Congrats on a gorgeous example!

I hate to be the only sour grape in the bunch but, the only pieces of wood I see are those around some of the metal features.
How about some pics that show some expanse of wood…like the whole butt stock, both sides, the fore end and hand guard both sides. If they are presented they aren’t showing up on my iPad.

I’ll provide it for you if it helps.

Third one down.

Yea I are what - the only sour grape or not showing up on my iPad - LOL!
Nice wood. Like to see the other side when you get time. If the metal looks that good, the wood should also. So show off the entire rifle, Waffs, S/Ns, stock codes and all.
Many thanks.

You're right, and its probably my biggest complaint on that one (although absolutely trivial compared to the cool factor of that rifle - and yours). Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but the end grain on these (sling swivel cutouts) should be raw with no oil finish. I BELIEVE MO had stopped finishing the entire stocks at this point? Prior to that they were dipped I think? I could be off base.

Beautiful example! Love the machining on the receiver! Pretty crude for a 43!

Here’s my f block for comparison:
