Building a fake sniper Kar98 K

Hey guys,

i found some pretty nice scopes with 1inch diameter. Well they are modern and for sure better than the fake stuff and much xheaper than the original old stuff.
For example.
These scopes should fit.
I thought about using one of my sig scopes, but they are the wrong shape, & look ridiculous on the rifle, IMO. I use an AO scope on my .22 cal squirrel rifle, perfect for the application!

Check this out, a Czech made vintage Meopta Artemis. Affordable and quality and very close to the ZF-39. Similar reticle. I have had one of these that is now on my buddy’s replica and I can attest to the quality. This is ultimately the follow up to my earlier comment on RSM being crap. Look for something like this. It’s not exact but man I’m sure it is it a better optic, based off of what I’ve heard of RSM.

Nice. Is that recent production?

thx waw44: Split rings are the way to go. The scout mount is a really nice solution for my other kar98. I would never drill holes in this rifle. (y)
Winchester cowboy: These scopes are hard to come by. IF you own this gun, congratulations. ;)

Took my 1937 Kar98k to the range yesterday.
100m light conditions at night not ideal, cause it was hard to see the rear sights. After finding my aiming point, all the shoots went into the black. The old lady still shoots like a beast.

Hi guys,
i solved my scope problem. I took my rifle to my trusted gunsmith and i was lucky cause he had a very nice kahles 8x56 full steel version. It fits perfect on the high turret and looks old school too. Well, now i need to wait around 6 weeks till my rifle is ready.

I hope that Kahles is the 1960's version other wise keep your wallet open for a ton of parts break if its the late 1940-1957 version pure junk.

Thx for the hint. I guess its even a later version from the 70th, but i dont know 100%. I trust my gunsmith on that part.
