This popped up locally. Asking price is $ 750.00

Barrel is plugged as is to be expected.

Seller says dated 1916 and mostly matching. He to provide more pics and to identify what's not matching.

So, if I did purchase this, I do have the skills to bring it back but how far should I go with it?

And is the asking price high, low or average ?

Looks like a VC Schilling example. I suspect the bolt is not matching (seems to be the case with many war bone guns). I personally think it’s about $100-150 too high but others may disagree.

Definitely a bolt mismatch that seems to have sat in a damp basement for years.

I personally wouldn't pay more than 600ish. Try to get him down a bit.

Also, I'd resist the temptation to restore it. The demilling is part of the history. These are collectible in their own right.
