dang i have ove 50 k98s let me look see what i need maybe swap boltsSpoke with Mike, and I proposed the idea of trying this list again. The one on gunboards seems to suffer from lack of focus, and people not understanding what info is required. So I am going to try it here.
I will start a list of bolts that are available, and a list of bolts needed. You can either post your info and I will add it to the list, or PM me if you want your name kept secret and I would ask your permission before alerting a buyer/seller to a possible match.
This is only for matching original guns with original mismatched bolts. No mismatched serial numbers, no refinished bolts. Those I would count as lost to the ages.
For wanting/offering a bolt.
Include your serial, suffix, waffenamt, finish, and numbering style.
ie early/late.
That is enough that if a match is found we can determine details after.
Also if a bolt is offered by someone, assume it is in a rifle and not for sale, only trade.
IF you have bolts you would sell, let me know, I will mark them with an asterisk.

someone needs to make an accessible script that automatically compares bolts and rifles whenever a new value is entered. When a close match is found it would filter to a user name and or post. They could contact each other from there
There's a lot of bolt mismatched rifles. A lot of them have been that way for years and have acquired patina and wear patterns. If the matching bolt shows up, you wouldn't put them together?I have 5382e
The rest of the rifle is 7395.
Though the bolt matches the patina of the rifle rather well… I’m wondering if swapping bolts isn’t the right idea. Any thoughts?
