bcd badness...

It's one of the W-prefix Yugoslav reworks. For unknown reasons, that group didn't get the German codes scrubbed off like most Yugoslav refurbs. They did scrub the s/n and add the W-prefix number on the right side. I do think they added it to the stock as well, which seems to be missing on that example. $5000 is pretty steep for a Yugoslav rework!

Well, the seller doesn't lie. It is what he says it is. BIN is bananas, but since fools are paying 1k for parts rifles, and matching originals are 4k, why not?
IMHO, ALL his BINs are insane. But hey, I'm not a super seller on Gunbonker so what do I know?

He's taking advantage of the buy first, research later crowd that has driven prices so freaking high.

And they will willingly continue to do so. As a representative analogy, if a running high bypass ratio turbofan hung under the wing of a Boeing 777 is our hobby as a whole, then these morons are the people who are willingly walking into the intake. They are as destructive to the hobby as they are to themselves.

The person paying the current bid of over $1900 for this dirt pile better prepare some lubricant.

I must say I have to agree. Without a continuous supply of low info buyers these guys couldn't stay in business. While I find these sellers reprehensible those buyers deserve a lot of the blame.

Exactly. I have been there myself as a buyer. Some time ago, my dumb a$$ made 2 mistakes involving Gunbroker 98k’s that could have put me in the same position. I asked people questions before I paid, and the sellers were kind enough to let me off the hook, but I still hit the bid button and agreed to a sale, on two separate occasions! One rifle had a couple issues with wood finish and the second was an outright obvious hump job.

I really learned my lesson after that hump job. In my research and my investments of time and money into forums and books, I’d never make that mistake again. There are more than plentiful amounts of quickly accessible information to assist buyers. I have no sympathy anymore.

All it takes is a little research and even as a new guy, in 15 minutes to an hour you can ascertain whether or not a rifle is legit, or at the very least recognize the red flags if any exist… but no just hit the bid button.
