Still getting the hang of posting photos. I know these aren't great. My first K98k, 20 years hence. When I picked it up, the hand guard and stock above the unterband was missing, as was the band itself and the bayo mount. Bubba had done this thing with the uberband and a portion of the band spring to hold the stock on. The sight sleeve lip was present, a plus. Sarco had stripped stocks and a bayo mount back then, and I had found bands the day I found the 98. A few years ago, after pestering Mowzerluver, he found me a correct stock set. Today it is essentially a 2 serial number gun, the barreled action having one number, and the stock set and bands being another. The wiping rod being unnumbered. Sight hood came out of my parts stash.
