bcd 43 4941m East German Re-Work

Only other East German rework I had was a bcd4 three hole thick wall rifle (unfinished LSR) with a East German sunburst on the top of the receiver.

This one is very similar to 95% of VOPO G/K43’s I’ve seen. Mixed WWII parts, sunburst on the bottom wrist, waxed/buffed shellac type finish, x’d out and forced match’s parts, and ground and forced matched parts. Differences is the butt plate is in the white, rack number on the side of the butt stock and they defaced the eagles.

Sharp and interesting rifle with some history. Looks relatively un-issued since the re-work.

Looks good love those crown "U" proofs, also a beautiful sunburst on the wrist

never seen that style front sight hood, could you post a good picture of that

yes most buttplates on EG reburbs were blued, does the buttplate have a serial number on it???

very good example

Sight hood may be a replacement. I will take a picture. Buttplate had a serial matching to the rifle on the bottom portion of the plate but scrubbed off or worn off? Which I do not understand as it is legible and matches the rifle. If the rifle wasn’t so mint, I would think the serial was worn off from drill and parade.
