First time submitter, thank you for your input and patience as only one close-up pic worked.
I acquired a bcd 41 98K with FN barrel (s/n’s match except for upper barrel band, safety, stock, and handguard) a couple of years ago that I am trying to ID the markings. I have read that Gustloff-Werke Weimar (bcd) built rifles from multiple parts suppliers including ‘Eagle 140’ (FN). My rifle has:
Receiver Left: Outstreched Eagle swastika / Serial Number / Mod. 98
Top: bcd 41
Right: 1 / unreadable Triangle / Eagle 749 / unreadable Eagle / Eagle 140
Barrel Left: upside down lightly struck 560 with unreadable mark
*X inspector / Crown R / Lion P.V / Crown ELG Star
Top: Serial Number / Federal looking Eagle B / Lightly Struck CAL 7.9
Rear Sight Base: Eagle 359
Spring: Eagle 77
Retainer: Eagle 18
Slider: Eagle 18
Front Sight Base: Eagle 88 ?
Floor Plate WaA63
My theory? 1941 Weimar receiver assembled with captured pre-War FN Liege proofed barrel (which has a post-War Federal Eagle B?)? Any assistance would be most appreciated.
