BCD 41. All matching Value. might sale.

And those are the same people who would buy it cheap then turn around and put it on gunbroker the next day. Reasonable offer is one thing an lowball offer like that is crap.

If i knew our timeline for import marking in canada, id make you a good offer right now. Hopefully someone gives it a good home.

There's no import marks any where on the rifle. I've had it all apart. It also come with a bayonet but does not match the rifle but it does match the scabbard it's a 1939 bayonet.

No I meant if I import to Canada. I couldn't stand to be responsible for it being marked.

That's a nice package though. I'm sure you'll get a few PMs.

Mike just do it. Lol

Hey Brad,
Thanks for posting the rifle over here. That FB group can get a little crazy with the amount of misinformation. These guys won't steer you wrong
Nice looking rifle btw. If I collected bcd's Id honestly have a hard time passing on it. And very cool that its a dual maker rifle. Didn't catch that

Bottom line is that Gunbroker.com will bring you from just under $2000 to perhaps as much as $4000, so sign up already it's not hard at all.
You have to have a credit card and they do charge a fee after you sell the rifle, but it's the best way to go hands down.
Pictures sell rifles and yours and the story you tell are good enough for a successful outcome, so get going!

GB is a good option, but since everyone was so helpful hear why not offer it on our trader. There is no fee and you know it will go to a fellow collector. Start high, say 2500, and reduce it daily until it sells. Nice rifle and great history to link it to with, too bad you can't keep it.

Neat rifle and good advice given here. Gunbroker can be hit or miss and you deal with the www. Check your PM or perhaps post it up here high and come down a bit until it sells.
Cheers,
Hambone

The rifle is great. The history is as good or better than capture papers IMO. I would print all that out. Wish I had the funds now.

Good advice here. These guys are the best. I suspect you will get a fair price. Good luck and thanks for posting.

Very nice Mauser. Thanks for posting. If time is not a real issue, post it here with the good advice given. The Patton smooch story is intriguing, more provenance.

Thanks guys for all the great info on the rifle. An thanks for the nice comments on it. I really didn't know this rifle could be worth so much or that it is a dual date or manufacturer. Thanks again guys. An yes she is for sale I hate to let so much history go but are van decided to break down at the wrong time of year. Here is the service record for the gentleman who brought the rifle back. He was in the 605th Tank destroyer battalion. There's a whole Web sight just for the 605th they was in some key battles Towards the end of the war. There's no telling where he picked it up at or if he's the one that killed the guy that had it. Wish the rifle could talk. Here's also pics of the writing on the stock forgot to post those last night.

I would like to thanks everyone for there info an time on the rifle an all the Interest. I've found the rifle a new home from this great group thanks again. I know it's going where it should an belongs. She will have other brothers an sisters to spend many years with. Thanks again Brad.

Glad to hear that it worked out well for you. Hopefully the power does a photo spread on it at some point. With a little bit of research, this has the potential to show off a lot of history.

Nice rifle, Brad was a great person to deal with. The Veteran's History Project apparently has a 6 hr. DVD interview with the vet and he may be talking about this rifle. They are sending me a copy of the DVD and I've made a donation to them.

Congrats HB, the rifle is nice but killer with the history.

I was truly glad to see you get this piece Craig. And glad too see a good deal worked out with both parties. I truly believe every collector out there would love to own a piece like this with the history tied with it too the veteran. And having the information and documentary DVD too just makes it so much more interesting. It really shows the sacrifices are greatest generation gave for us too enjoy this collecting hobby. Hope this is a pic sticky for sure.

I`m so glad this piece of history ended up going to where it needed to be.
