Only 2 countrys came to opinion, when not CS marked so its a austrian M95 frog, with german added secure strap. Germans changed even the shape of frog hook hole for cylindrical, as normally it was rectangular.

It is a German retention strap but not added by the Germans. Completely wrong rivets and reinforcement patch to the reverse. Austrian frog with German strap added by Yugoslavia (probably post-war) in my opinion. Round hole for frog hanging hook could be German or Yugo modification. My thoughts only .....

Personally i dont believe this type of knob was used by yugoslavians, they would add a brass one knob, but You are right about the rivets, but this could be a later replacement as normally similar secure strap could be sewed into, like other germans frog got added the secure strap in late 30ies. The leather strap is not reused from older frog, should be presented details of the knob area here it looks like Alu.

I think we are saying nearly the same thing, Andrej. Retention straps were added to standard frogs by the Germans. And they were even added to captured frogs. But not in this manner. As far as the aluminum stud (knob) on the strap it is clearly not Yugoslavian. It is German as stated in my original post. The stud is not brass because it is not Yugoslavian. The entire strap is German but not added by them. The oversized flat-head rivets with hollow backs scream Yugoslavia. I agree with your comment that German retentions straps were sewn-on; not attached with rivets. My thoughts only ....

Similar rivets are seen on other wartime leather items. I'm fairly sure I've seen them on a standard pattern frog but dont have a photo.

Similar rework could be done by field unit waffenmeister, with easy adding a spare secure strap, not typical method, but i believe i saw already similar change.
