Anyone heard from Leszek Foks?

Yes, I think a Yugoslav reworked stock was the pattern. In fact, it even looks like one of the stocks shortened by them for the re-barreled rifles given the two holes in the bayonet lug mounting area.
This is kind of impressive. It took the exact same amount of work to use a good stock for a template as a bad one, yet he picked a bad one. Bizarre.

I corresponded with him last winter; the above is EXACTLY what the stock is. He started out making replacement stocks from customers’ damaged samples.

There was a post on Reddit today where someone paid for a Kar98a stock from him. He said customs seized and destroyed the stock because it didn’t have an ATF Form 6 and petition.

I have ordered (and received) probably ~5 stocks from him over the years. He must be drowning in emails and his work is top notch and now that he's 'on the map' I'm sure he's flooded with orders. Back before he was 'discovered', he had really quick turnaround times. Don't sweat not hearing from him though. He's just busy.

Years ago I had ordered a stock from him that got rejected by customs and sent back to him (luckily not destroyed I guess). He shipped it back to me, out of his own pocket, a second time and went it through fine. For getting through customs, it totally depends on who the agent is. Clearly some have a left wing agenda/don't know what is and isn't allowed in the country/how to do their jobs and can waste your time and money. It's a risk you have to accept, no way around it and not his fault US customs is so inconsistent.

Wow. I have to admit I was curious about how he was managing customs but filed it under the heading of "he's probably got it covered". That's wild. It's like the guys that ship cigars I guess... gotta assume some will be confiscated.
