An oldie but goodie--- Jhv44

Hi guys,

I thought I would share this one. G 98/40 I picked it up a few years ago, but never really took a lot of pictures. I had it downstairs for a cleaning so I thought I'd snap a few.

Bolt is mismatched along with the front band. The rest of the parts match. Laminated stock. Externally, it's "been there, done that" but has a like-new bore. I particularly like the rough milling on the rear of the receiver.

Doesn't appear to be sanded, but the markings underneath have seen some moisture between 1944 and when I acquired it and are fairly faint.

These are rather neat rifles. This is the only one I've owned, but I like the feel of it and found it pleasant to shoot. I understand the '44 dated rifles have rather low production but am not sure how low. Anyone care to shed some light?

Thanks for the info! Yeah, I noticed the bolt was e/56 marked, so I figured it was from an earlier rifle.
