All Matching DOT 44 with sling

An old collector buddy of mine who is quite fond of K98k’s offered to sell me this DOT 44 the other day. He said it’s been in his collection since the early 1970’s.

Very nice all matching DOT 44 with an original 1944 dated sling and keeper (I forgot to take pictures of the sling. I’ll get some later). The sling was taken off of the rifle to keep it in better condition, but it came with the rifle when he found it.

White glue laminate stock, so I probably won’t be shooting it. Everything appears to be in great shape. I paid him $1,400. I’m more than happy with it.

Does look to be in very good condition. Always thought the front sight hood adds to the overall looks on 98ks. Nice you scored it!

Fantastic price for an excellent rifle, most matching K98ks seem to go north of $2k at auctions these days. Interesting that there is an asterisk on the barrel, is that indicative of a part that needed reworking at the factory to meet spec?
