Ajack 4x90 +(Blue) Scope

I had this scope on an LSR clone. Sold the rifle a year ago and the poor kid couldn't afford the package with the scope, as a result here it is.

Ajack 4x90 Scope with 'blue' +
Serial # 50077

Bought from an optic dealer from Kassel Germany - city that still produces optics and produced optics during the war.
Scope was fully cleaned and serviced, so very clear three post optics with a working elevation turret. Has the shadow of old ring mounts (likely from post-war use).

Any idea on value these days? Looking to sell and will be listing here first prior to anywhere else.

No idea what it's worth but I might be interested in it. I'm trying to complete an LSR clone build myself. It came with a Jena Zielvier 4x scope but the glass is very blurry. You can get a sight picture but it ain't a good one. Probably gonna replace the scope so I can actually shoot the gun

The value is approximately $1200 to $1500 depending on cond. of optics , but this depends on if it is actually a Ajack 4X90 , can You post a couple pics of front of the scope please show the front lens . An Ajack 4X90 in 50XXX range should have a Sunshade and this Ajack does not appear to have one . Something strange with this 50XXX serial range Ajack going on .

It looks to have been an OM at one time also
I am leaning towards it maybe a 6X Ajack that had the Saddle & Dial Parts replaced or its an Early Ajack 4X90 without Sunshade that had the Saddle & Dial Parts replaced . Would need the Pics I asked for and a measurement of Front Bell from end of Lens retainer to were the Bell starts to slope .

According to the size of the front bell the Scope is a original Ajack 4X90 , I checked my Ajack 4X90 scopes and there all the same as Your example . That said IMHO the mystery is this . Is the Saddle and Dial components original to this tube or were the original ones damaged or missing and subsequently replaced with these . There is also one or possibility that this Scope had its Sunshade damaged or missing and the Lens retainer was used to bring the Scope back to working order .

I have personally never seen nor heard of an Ajack 4X90 that was in 50XXX serial range that did not have the Sunshade .

Looks like it's been there and done that, probably had replacement parts at time in it's life.

Looks like one of the double rain holes is there, perhaps it was badly damaged and shortened?

I am not an expert and know almost nothing about them. But i bought this same scope on eBay last week for $2250. In my personal opinion it’s not what what it’s worth, it’s what someone wants to pay because these are kinda hard to find and someone will NEED it for the HT AJACK they wanna build. Take from that what you will. I purchased the AJACK the second I saw it and didn’t hesitate.

Your example has the full front sun shade. The one posted by the OP has a sun shade that has apparently been altered/shortened or replaced

Dave, note the traces of the former Suhler Einhakmontage on the scope tube. Remember you have to lift at the rear to pull the scope. I'm sure the rainshield simply was too long to get it removed with the Suhler Claw Mount, so they did what was easy and chopped off the front end tube.

Good eye and thank you for the information that everyone has provided.

As mentioned above and as promised I originally posted this scope to the Trader with a link to this discussion so that a buyer would have full disclosure and knowledge of what they were purchasing. 24 hours later I listed on Ebay at a higher price to accommodate for fees etc as Ebay is the Wild West.

Makes me wonder what other pieces I have that may not be 100% correct.

I suspect that nothing else has been done to the Scope other than the sunshade being shortened , at least you now know that the Scope was altered and whats been done to it . IMHO the Mystery is solved , and as stated full discloser for the purchaser !!!!!!!!

I have one very similar i.e. not very far away in serial numbers, I’ll look tonight and the consensus was from the Swede folks over there that it was likely prewar made in the late 30s .
