Here is an example of a variation of the carbine protector made from oilskin. This cover is 1942 dated, factory coded and proofed WaA663 for Jean Weipert, Fabrik feiner Reisartikel, Offenbach/Main, Hessen (jhz) : (Visierschutzkappe : 41-42). This same type of cover is discussed in BBotW on pg.327.

Green canvas example, hck 41 , WaA 14 (Georg Lerch, Berlin). I am cumulating all action covers into this thread. This thread covers all the known action covers in my known world. I've not seen any other variants than these. If you have one, post it up.

More accessories from me: A Heer action cover made in 1941. Found in a Norwegian home guard depot many years ago. The story says it was in a huge crate with a lot of others. Wonder where the rest is? Remember I paid 500 NOK (62 dollar) for it at that time. Well well, this was in the good ole days.

Hello to all.
1) nice collection of action covers here ! thank you all for sharing.
2) has any one seen any blue prints for these action covers ?
I do not own one yet , tend to be a pit pricey on the few I've seen for sale ; more money than the rifle it's self.

I own 13 k98k's so far.
I asked the question for 2 reasons; 1; I want to make a few to help protect some of the k98's I own.

2 ; on the mp38/40 , during the war the military did send out instructions / blue prints on how to make action covers in the field for those weapons. would assume similar for the k98k.
