ac44 g43 with GW ZF 4 scope opinions

I like to see the dow scope on a matching Walther K43 sniper. I think I have a matching ac45 k43 sniper with a scope very close in serial. Great score even with the stock.

Interesting observation. I also have an ac45 K43 sniper which I believe to be original that has a late unserialized Walther proofed mount and a dow scope serial 10115 which is fairly close to this one.

There has been a long tradition that says Walther snipers should only have ddx scopes. This is complete crap, dow scopes on a Walther mount is fine.

Stellar purchase. Mount serial might be questionable to some, but if you refer to some of Weaver's examples or any other examples I think every number appears legitimate and I see no reason to question the numbers on the mount.
There's nothing fresh about the engraving either and only a slight lack of the typical neatness in the straight-line alignment can be observed.
Everyone has their own opinion here but to me there is nothing that suggests those numbers are neither legitimate nor period original and I'd be elated with such a purchase!

Everyone can form their own opinion but

it's possible some serial numbers were hand applied and some are factory done with the pantograph machine. Just in this small sample you can see a difference on Walther mounts. The OP's mount falls into the possible hand applied catagory. As has been said and I said from the get go for what you paid it really doesnt matter.. It was a gift !!

Mount 4987 is almost identical and may have been done by the same hand.
