ac44 g43 with GW ZF 4 scope opinions

Hello all,
I am new to the forum and look forward to learning as much as I can from the knowledgeable collectors here.
I was offered this g43 and wanted your opinions. The pictures are not mine so this is what I have as of now. They claim it as a vet bring back. Unfortunately the sling slot has been filled in with a putty and possibly hide glue. I was told this can be fixed. I'm unsure if it's all original and I know enough to get myself into trouble.

its a fairly interesting variant.. G43 marked late P block in phosphate. The stock has been worked over and there is a duffle cut through the butt stock. I have seen sling wells filled before. This looks like wood putty. With some work this can be dug out. Not sure the point ?? But, bubba doesnt work logically :ROFLMAO: The mount is real and scope. The engraved serial # looks off though ? We have seen others done this way but , its not quite right.
Whats the asking price ? The scope and mount are worth are 2k and the rifle is matching roughly 2500.00 IMHO.. but, g/k43's are back up to stupid #'s right now..

I was offered this for 2500. I too was wondering why they would fill the sling well haha. They say all numbers match.

I would want to see better pictures of the mount number. The mount is certainly real but I am not crazy about the rifle number. Stock is ruined.

I can try getting more pictures once in hand. A shame on the stock..... I am trying to learn how to tell if the stock has been reworked or not.
Very interesting rifle and at a bargain price for the set. The St Etienne produced cosmetic receiver makes it a very cool variant and easily a worthwhile purchase, all considered. As stated above the mount is definitely original. The mount serial number engraving is questionable but that isn't conclusive in any way. A shame on the stock but that fill-in job might be more salvageable than many might think. Better hurry on that deal!

Hey Gents, I want to thank you all for your help! The rifle is now in my possession. I couldn't be happier with it. It screams history and looks great in person.

the font looks off.. But, for what you paid it really doesnt matter IMHO.. The stock was repaired well . The line will always show but oh well... Just start chipping away at the wood putty and if its super old it will start breaking up and just fall apart..

If you search posts here You will find the post with the bad numbers on the mount. It was sold at least twice as matching but, someone added the numbers to an un numbered mount.

Stellar purchase. Mount serial might be questionable to some, but if you refer to some of Weaver's examples or any other examples I think every number appears legitimate and I see no reason to question the numbers on the mount.
There's nothing fresh about the engraving either and only a slight lack of the typical neatness in the straight-line alignment can be observed.
Everyone has their own opinion here but to me there is nothing that suggests those numbers are neither legitimate nor period original and I'd be elated with such a purchase!
Congratulations to the buyer!

Thank you so much for this reference!

I like to see the dow scope on a matching Walther K43 sniper. I think I have a matching ac45 k43 sniper with a scope very close in serial. Great score even with the stock.
