Sorry guys, I have no pictures to share, but you all know what a K98 looks like. I havent been on here much lately.
Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE the early war stuff. I knew some day I would have a prewar rifle.
I recently got a beautiful rifle from one of our members. Its a Bolt mismatch 1937 S/243 rifle.
when I got it the bore looked like it was about 70-80% tops, she was kind of dirty, but the walnut stock had so much character- and the stamps / H in the stock were amazing.
I took her home- holy crap was it hard to get that front band off. the old grease / dirt / oil inside the stock line was like JB weld.
but with some elbow grease, BreakFree and gun solvent she cleaned up-
BEAUTIFUL bluing- you can see where the bayonet wore through the bluing on the muzzle. Beautiful stock. the bore is 90-95% and shiney.
this just became my best K98 out of the bunch.
