The other day I came across this in a store and was only able to get 3 quick photos. I know it is JWH (Staatliche Waffenfabrik, France. Made in 1944. Is a JWH in the U Block a little more Scarce than the Earlier JWH's? It did not have a scabbard with it. Everything looked real nice on it, It had not been sharpened, no rust, tip good, bluuing good, catch button functions etc. the thing that through me off was the fact that it Did not have any Waffenamt Marks stamped on it. What could one conclude about that? I have seen a lot of other JWH Bayonets that have the Waffenamt on them. I can always go back and buy it, but I was not sure about it's past due to the fact that there were No Waffenaamt Marks on it. Thank you very much for your time and expertise.

The u block was fully completed, so 10.000 pieces in that series. 44jwh is fairly scarce with production around 40.000 pieces. Bayonet should have two Eagle WaA251 at the reverse pommel but it's possible that it missed this step. Nothing to suggest the bayonet is wrong in any way from your pics. These can be found and unless the price is very low you might want to wait on a matching example with scabbard. My thoughts only ....

Should be presented the pommel, but it could be the end proof was forgotten to made, anyway many in v range are fully WaA251 proofed like Slash mentioned. I personally would examine the blade as it looks like welded there? note lower part of blade about 5 cm under crosspiece?. But maybe its only done by lights by photo taking or its the temperation area of blade. Anyway with 50kB size of picture, You could do nothing more.

From what we can see, id say it looks nice. Do you mind saying what the asking price is? Id say its worth picking up for the right price. There is no question of its authenticity.

Unless you already have a jwh 44 scabbard that you acquired for a good price, I don't think it's worth it. If 80 or less, then sure. But as others have said above, best to save your money for a matching example.
Yes, I think you and the others are right. Thank you for your response and time.
