Well I've been meaning to post some bayonets I found this year as I got back in to collecting a little. For some reason it took me 20+ years to find a late JWH in such high condition but here it is. I have to say this one of of my favorites. It has many of the late war characteristics. A very rough ground pommel and note unlike Hörster it looks like they pre-shaped/mis-shaped the lug before final grind fitting on the pommel as there is a bit of material missing at the top. There is also a rough scabbard weld seam with voids. Sorry the photos aren't the best hopefully next year Ill be able to get my collection in order and set up a booth to properly shoot them.

Forge, grind on it a little, slap on some blue and ship it out. Late war bayonet production at it`s best.
Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to you getting that photo booth so we can see more of your collection.

That is a sweeeeeet piece. Very near the absolute end for them. I had a v block once but I sold it. Have a nice S block I think now.

Wasn't all the fun in that 20 year hunt?! Just sell me that, you can do better.

Nice one late french production piece by Chatellerault, rough mashining and large brazing area under basement of hook on scabbard, not extra used and well stored in last 70 years.
