43 Sauer stock, what to use to clean up /oil, or leave it alone?

Just picked this up for my HT clone build. Unnumbered , and looks to be unsanded but the finish is worn. Looks like it was rubbed off , or maybe masking tape, dry maybe. Little surface corrosion on the metal bits, so that will be treated with brass wool and kroil.

So, about the wood. Would you fix this , just oil the stock, or leave it be ?

If it was mine and for a repro sniper build, I would oil that area with ballistol, put it in the sun ☀️ for a couple hours. It will take a long time, but eventually it will darken. It’s a nice stock, leaving it be can also be an option. Really depends on you.

Thanks . As I put it in on my parts shelf I realized that I may have a Sauer problem 😂

The stock in question is on far right , the one immediately to its left is a unsanded CE41 stock. Note the difference in finish and appearance.

I saw your other post too. This turned out fantastic IMHO. Congrats on saving this one.
