1944 Oberndorf NLB zf41

Much appreciated guys, I had always loved the looks of a walnut zf!

Navyguy, it was a good deal, but not an auction. Hang in there and keep watching the market. There are way too many variables to ever say this is worth this or that, you just have to get a feel for it, and just when you think you have, auctions can sometimes defy explanation.

I had a byf44 block c with the same handguard.
What do we know about this hallmark E/c10
Sorry for the quality of the photos
Thank's

Bruce or Jeremy could give way better input here, but it appears Oberndorf got a run of HG’s from a subcontractor; maybe surplus from the depot system. I don’t know if they show up sporadically later on, but I see them on early 1944 production, and to date I’ve seen both laminate and walnut, this is the first elm example I can recall seeing. I wondered at first if it was a m/m but I took just the HG off to confirm it was matching and there’s a little green ink in it like you’d expect. In general, you sometimes see a mix of wood types like this from 44 Oberndorf production which is cool IMO.D3ABC340-06D7-43C5-ACBC-7B19189B24CB.jpeg

That’s well put information about the market…..

That one is untouched and has interesting features like the handguard and the extra wrist proof!! SCORE!!
