1943 DOT K98k with tiger striped walnut stock, almost minty

Here's my only 98k, a lonely sentinel in a safe of Gew98's. I got this from a coworker many years ago. He'd got it (many years earlier) from a local estate auction, said there was a scoped one there but he didn't have the money for both. The front sight, bayo lug, follower, buttplate, & action screws are un-numbered, I'll assume that's correct. The firing pin is missing it's last serial # digit, I'll assume a factory manufacturing error. The bore is pristine. It's just hard to beat tiger striped walnut wood. The pics are a combination from years ago & some taken yesterday. Hopefully these pics will brighten the day for the K98k collectors on this great site. Cheers

Mike's sent a couple pictures of that rifle to me a few days ago. I told him that bolt cutout is so sharp you could probably cut your hands on it! What a beauty.

What a fantastic rifle! People always drool over the mid-war Oberndorfs in walnut, but honestly these walnut dot's are just fantastic. I don't think you could find a nicer quality midwar rifle.

That's a beauty. An outstanding example in every respect! Congrats! I agree on the stickie nomination.
