1940 luger great cond.

Its in great cond, all numbers match except mag,correct ww2 mag.Grips are really nice and crisp.Paid 1k last year for it,vet bringback from vets son.Looks about unfired,mint bore,thought it was worth the money,not a steal but a fair price I think.

Nice. Picked mine up this summer under the exact same circumstances. Best condition Luger I own and I've found that 40 dates are tougher to find than the surrounding years...

That looks like a very nice one Biggd!Ned,I think it was under retail price for sure,Simpson LTD would be asking 2k I am sure.There arent that many collectors around here,not many guys would shell out a grand for a pistol,thats ok with me!

I would spend a grand on a Luger that nice any day! Lugers like that sell for well over $2500 in my area. Oh and if you mention Black widow Luger then the money really starts flying.

I would never shoot any of my matching Lugers, anything breaks (and they are 75+ years old) and you are taking a big value hit. Too many shooter grade Lugers available for reasonable $$ to risk it. But everyone has their risk threshold, I have a friend that shoots percussion colts, original ones, that have a lot more miles on them than the WWII Lugers

I have a matching, except for the mags, 1939 S/42 that came with a holster. I paid $850.00 around ten years ago. I don't like to shoot anything that is matching normally but I did shoot it once. Man, those sights are small compared to my 96 Beretta Brigadier. I think I like bigger sights, easier to acquire a proper sight picture.

Thanks guys!Bobby I thought it was a good buy,matching lugers in nice condition do seem to be pretty desirable and recognized,not too many people would not know what it is.Although have heard some people call a p38 a german luger!
