1940 K98 Matching Numbers?

I bought this gun 5 years ago at Cabellas but never really looked into its numbers situation. What do these numbers mean and is it all matching? I can't really tell if the bolt is matching as I don't know where the numbers would be placed but the pieces attached to it are as far as I can tell.

Do you have any photos of the stock? Left side of the buttstock? I would like to rule out a French rework…

I added a photo of the left side but there isn't any markings which makes me think it was refinished. The only marking I see is a small W by the trigger guard underneath

(Im not going to remove the receiver to look underneath)

Yea, so unfortunately it’s been scrubbed and restamped aka “humped”. The rifle originally was a 1940 JP Sauer. The bolt is not even the correct one as it’s WaA 63 inspected instead of the WaA37 (correct for JP Sauer). It’s basically a shooter now. Not much collector value.

its not that hard youtube has plenty of vids. you would need special hollow ground blade screwdrivers so as not to bugger the screw slots.

What do you guys like to use for 8mm mauser ammo? PPU is about all I can find in Massachusetts as I can't order any online
Yeah, PPU is fine. Quite good as a matter of fact. Brass is pretty high quality and reloads well. Been using it in both SP and FMJ since it showed up on the market a couple decades ago.
