Last arrival for 2023. A nice 237 1940. Aside from an unnumbered s/42 follower it appears to be matching. The handguard is penciled and stamped. Right hand stock markings are faint but legible, there is one I can't identify. It appears to be an eagle over an S, but I can't make out the rest of it. I don't see it on other 1940 date examples. Depot stamp perhaps?

EDIT: mystery marking does appear to be e/Psn2 for Posen as pointed out by AN-94. Checks out against Vol. IIb

Hard to find matching BLM K98ks and this certainly is a nice one. The stamp looks like a Posen depot stamp to me, the example in Vol IIB is marked "Psn2" under a very short eagle stamp and looks like a match to yours.

I'll have to dig out my book, been meaning to take a look.

I believe you are correct, pulled IIb out and checked against the reference pictures in the book.

On closer examination of my rifle I can see a faint P to the left of the S.

interesting example.. The rifle must have been damaged up top causing the HG and rear site to be replaced.. All and all a very nice find ..local ?

It was a trade through the forum here.

On the rear sight the only thing that I see that looks replaced is the spring e/359 Walther part. Everything else is e/214 and appear to be all original BLM parts.
