1940 42 k98

Ive got matching polish mauser and 10.matching ww2 p38s. Ive also have a matching Norwegian k98 minus barrel plus a depot gun. Ive never been a big German k98 collector. Jefferson gun show labor day weekend then 1 just about every weekend

The stock would be dated in the barrel channel for 1940 rifles, not under the buttplate as seen in later rifles. I believe the changeover was in 1941 with the introduction of the cupped buttplate.
Ill take it apart sometime this week and post what i find.
 
Would the serial on the stock also be on the area under pistol grip of stock called "keel" on a 1940 42 code rifle. My 1940 Borsigwalde 243 98k has the serial stamped there also.
