1939 k98k, any info appreciated

This was my great grandfather's gun. I know it has less interest than most as it was not kept original. He handmade a new stock and added a scope, and hunted all over the western US with it. It does have all matching numbers though. I'm surIMG_20230816_170110.jpgIMG_20230816_170015.jpge it's value modified is nowhere near what an original would be, but I'm not concerned with that as I do not intend to ever sell it, and his woodwork carries immeasurable sentimental value to me personally. I am just curious from markings where it was made, and any other info on it the markings may give away. I appreciate any info you guys have.IMG_20230816_170125.jpg
