Hi guys. I've purchased another K98 which is from what I can tell all matching. The seller also had a german box of 300 rounds of 8mm from 1944 which comes with the rifle. Not the best pictures but they're all I have as of now, will post new pictures when I get the rifle next week.

Any thoughts on the rifle and ammunition would be of great help.

Well the pictures blow but the rifle looks good from what I can see. The blue on the receiver, barrel and bolt looks great, but the bottom metal is quite silvery in comparison. Maybe it's just the photos? The stock looks very crisp but no acceptance or serials are shown. The only other thing I really took note of is that mine is a 'u' block and the proofs are Nazi eagles by then so the change happened sometime in '39. Good luck and I hope it's everything you think it is. The ammo seems like a nice bonus to me as well.

..good things come to those who wait. Just picked up the rifle and took a few photos of the it. To my surprise it’s an all matching Luftwaffe K98 with a clean bore. I’m really excited as the grainy pictures left much unknown about the rifle. Even the screws match. The buttplate is in poor condition but number matching as well.

Very nice example Ballsack I use to own one very similar.. Most of these 243/39's seem to be Luftwaffe marked as is this one.
Even in 39 this example shows use of both types of proof marks and what I consider a transition rifle. Most transition over in 38 and there were some stragglers Im assuming the delay in the making of new stamps..

Super good! That is a really nice find. The terrible pictures kind of lied huh? I bet some kroil and a soft cloth will make the butt plate much nicer. It doesn't seem to be too deep. Congratulations and I hope you enjoy it!

Quick question. The top of the bolt stop or ejector box doesn't look like e/26. Rear sight spring doesn't either. I even tried blowing them up more but just can't tell. Can you confirm what acceptance they are? Maybe it's just my eyes again? Anyway it's interesting to me. Seems like pretty much everything else is straight Borsigwalde.

You have a good eye heavy, I didn't see those waffenamts were different, after looking closer the bolt stop appears to be marked WaA63 and the rear sight spring I'm not sure, but I think it's WaA26, the laset number could also be 8 and not 6, its hard to tell.

Thanks for checking. 63 makes sense and I kind of thought that's what it was. I actually thought the spring was 38 but that didn't make sense either. Maybe if you tear it completely apart sometime you can check many other small parts. I think every metal piece is accepted.

nice example Ballsack

I didn't even notice that!
