Welcome! Your photos are not very good. They show almost everything but the important details. Please show a clear picture of the weapon from the left side where the scope mount and rifle serial number can be seen, the bolt serial numbers, rear band, trigger guard and magazine housing. Then remove the scope and show pictures of the mount.

Please post pics of the rifle number on the Mount and a Rifle number on back end of Base ?? I posted sample pics of what needs to be seen . The Dialytan Scope is post war and there is no range marking on dial which there should be and this is not a good sign .

I think someone added a reproduction mount to a rifle to turn it to a "sniper rifle". I'm not sure what the value in Australia is, but where I am this would be a € 1000-1500 rifle, because it is basically worth the sum of the parts.

Not even the sum of the parts, because once upon a time it was an un-drilled rifle. Here's hoping that it at least wasn't a matching example.

Well, a S/42 from 1937 is the most common rifle to be found over here for being former Portugal contract and those were sold largely. People like those as lookalike for shooters. I do think they command more than undrilled - of course not from a collectors point of view though.

Can You Please post Pics of the Mount and the Base showing rifle number . If You don't have pics can You get them . In this one photo you posted I can see the locking lever has a #11 this is typical of an original SS SSR Mount not a Reproduction Mount . Thank You

Well this just got interesting!!

Well this just got interesting!!
IMO the only thing that may have become interesting is whether or not the SSR Mount is an original Mount or Not and also possibly the Base .
Hopefully Michael will be able to get the pics I requested if he does not already have them , it will be interesting to see what the pics show .

Coulda used more light in the first photo but I don't see anything even remotely there so it may have been scrubbed? (Wondering what Dave thinks since he is one heck of a sniper expert alongside Hercules)

Mount looks like it could maybe an Original UnUsed/UnIssued Mount , but I would not want to make that call using these photos . If Mount was used it would have a rifle number stamped into it .

Do You have a pic showing if the Base has a # on the rear end of it . I posted a sample pic in my earlier post . biggymu points out what photo to view .

There are no numbers on the rear or side of the scope mount however I did find a number 2 on the underside of the scope mount.

Do you know anything about that number "2"?

Also interested to hear your follow up thoughts on whether it's a repro or unissued original?

Sorry for the pictures, it does not let me upload the original quality due to size restrictions.

Another bad photo but just thought I'd highlight where the "2" is

I have no idea what the # 2 means . but many not all Mounts & Bases have a pairing number , I added a couple pics . Check your mount & Base to see if there are pairing numbers on either Mount & Base and see if they match . This will help determine if there original or not and whether the pairing #s match .
