A current offering out there in the surf zone. It appears to me that someone took a really nice 1918 Erfurt (with a correct matching magazine) and ruined it for perpetuity.

To only be outdone by this spectacular piece of workmanship...imagine having the opportunity to buy both. In the same week. 1.jpg

Many members we're banned there questioning this Luger.

I got the ban hammer and I didn't even openly question it. Some WTS get a lot of banter and other get that treatment.

What forum was this gents? I've seen some heated discussion over these, but it's the first time I recall seeing this particular gun (at least all of it...the 'head' may have been part of a picture group at some point).

Here you go

Alrighty then...a ban for you, and a ban for you!

The older I get, the more I realize I don't know. There were some seemingly very uninformed folks in that thread.

I see they took off the ridiculous opening bid, and Buy it Now, and turned it into a penny auction with no reserve. Will be interesting to see where it ends up. My SWAG is going to be around $2k or more. But this day in age, who knows.

They sold the ridiculously marked 'SS' gun above. About $1k when you add all the fees and taxes. Looks to be an early commercial gun, so hopefully someone ended up with a decent shooter (and a great...LOL...conversation piece at the range).

For reference...add ~$400 to that for taxes, compliance, shipping. Almost $5k for a terribly wrong gun. Screenshot (1144).png

I guess the seller got his price, and some poor soul is stuck with a junk, fake "deathshead" Luger. You can't save everyone, I tried and its impossible. Even people that read forums/books and are shown the evidence will still interpret the info to fit their narrative to "get the goods".
