This is a great one. Has the DWM assembly numbers and no serial number in the stock channel.

I’ve not taken my rear sight down that far. Gives a whole new appreciation of the machine work involved in an already complex design. I like the milling rings in the floor plate also. Very nice!

Nice DWM/15, I like them too, excellent photo display, - even with the enormous numbers made in 1915-1917 these are not common, especially in uppergrades. (most 1917 big makers are fairly common in upper grades, but not DWM so much, - maybe the rifles were victim of the disorder in 1918-1920, which was worse in Berlin than most places... even if they returned to government hands they would have mostly gone to the smelter as they were easier to hand during the push...)

** being a 1915 this is irrelevant to this rifle, but does add to the curiosity of DWM production.

Perhaps the OP can take a photograph of the stock acceptance under the external serial? While BiO took pictures of this rifle in some detail these pictures do not show this and it is the only shot I do not have of importance.

The stock is externally serialed, but DWM did not internally serial until mid-1916, so far as is known they were the only mfg to do this... (or not do this!)
