bcd 4 lsr without scope or mount - the other rifle

Great rifle, and it is so much greater because no one screwed it up by adding a scope and drilling for pins, etc. Awesome find! Jeff (By the way, I have a 1985 Land Cruiser)

    DOT 44, with '44 Bayonet

Gorgeous! Reminds me of the good ol' days when I heavily collected Czech K98s, Vz.24, etc. Thanks for the pics. Jeff

Anyone see the G40k in Herman historica sell?

This hobby has too many "Holy Grail" candidates! I'd be happy just to see one in person. 12K Euro? A small price to pay if it is the real deal. Jeff

byf45 high turret with “under the hood” pictures

I agree, certainly worth restoring properly. Poor or removed metal finish, especially if buffed, etc. , after having to work with it and refinish, is a deal killer for me, now. It can be done, but the work/expense trumps the reward IMHO. Jeff

K98k Laminate Stock Date and Supplier Codes

Stephan, here is one for you. I don't have a lot of MO rifles that are not either restorations or reworks, etc. I do have 2 byf44 with matched stocks, but they are devoid of any markings under the buttplate or on the keel. byf43, 5 digit serial (26111) Ha 1 2 43 Physically stamped, no marking...

Anyone ever see this ss / guard plate on a rifle ?

The plate may have by some obscure chance been part of the Third Reich from something, but how it got on that 98/40 has nothing to do with the rifle. Jeff

Duffel cut SSR sniper rifle with SS markings

One of these is on my bucket list, as my Dad and I have a correct scope and mount for it sitting here. Someday... Jeff

variant dkl high and low turret

Another question I have, as I do not own a Sauer HT or scope set to compare to MO examples, is either one of these mount sets interchangeable with MO bases/rings? If so, which set? Jeff

variant dkl high and low turret

Is there any reliable listing of subcontractors which may have, pre-war, manufactured sporting bases, and may have then begun providing mounts and bases according to the wartime design we now see? Location may be a key point. Jeff

Yes, bad typing, I was wrong. Sorry. Jeff

    Single Claw Zeiss Scope

That was, indeed, a great find, Dad! It pays to trawl eBay for obscure stuff. But it takes a lot of time. Jeff

    Single Claw Zeiss Scope

Excellent scope, Brian. Here is your scope's brother, check the serial number - 81364, three off of yours! Not nearly as good in condition, though. This one is from Romania, and Robert Spielauer refinished the tube and cleaned it, but he left the saddle alone. Jeff P.S. The dial is tapped...

I assume the mounts will fit either ring set? Meaning they are interchangeable?

variant dkl high and low turret

Well, look at that. Two different setups. You sure do have an eye for minor variances, I would not have noticed that right off. Thanks for posting! Jeff
