Sniper pictures

I disagree on Scope , Scope is Zeiss Zielvier IMO , take a closer look at Saddle & Dial
You are right, it doesn't even have a sunshade. Must be a Zielvier. That is what you get for looking at pictures on a mobile :D .

The more I look at it the more I think it has a flat butt plate.
Hmm .. it doesn't look like cupped, but to me it kind of looks too thick for flat either? Attached a blown up and sharpened cutout from the image.

IMO the SS sniper photo is a staged fake, a Reenactor.
Dang! Once you pointed that out you can’t unsee it. It’s totally a modern photo. Which is why his rifle is so weird. We sniper collectors are idoits!

Declaration! All short side rails are fake. I mean, short sides are so bad we can’t even trust photos of them.

OK , here is a copy of same photo , I have seen several of this reprint sell over past few years . I never bought a copy because of the Eagle Swastika on box and it screamed fake/reprint . As for the one we are discussing now it does differ from the one I posted slightly . I did not purchase the photo knowing what I knew about the reprints .

I would think it would be possible to tell if the one that just sold was original or not by the type of photo paper used , would it not ??
I know who purchased the photo so it is possible to do a in hand comparison between a original to see if papers are the same different .

These 2 are also reenactor photos... The one posted of the ss guy with the camo fabric face mask and Russian sniper rifle wrapped in fabric is also questionable.

LOL. When I originally saw the photo I told myself “All it’s missing is a big Nazi eagle on the boxes”. There you go.

An education for photo collectors.
