New to the forum and very proud to share my G41. This is a new acquisition and one I never thought I’d encounter, especially being this nice and matching. I’m assuming the initials are from a veteran but only Lord knows now. From what I’ve read this was amongst the last of them made. Hope y’all enjoy! -Brooks

The bolt carrier, action cover and magazine all appear renumbered. Notice how there are no dimples from the spot welds remaining on the mag reinforcement, directly adjacent to the number, material has been removed.

I have prior history in my listings on this rifle. 04-22-2012 it was sold at Rock Island Auction. The auction site reported the finish at 95%. No further reports. The rifle did not have a cleaning rod then either. “VIN“ was carved on the stock’s keel then as well.

A duv43 g block for comparison

I have only owned this rifle since November 2nd. It was purchased from a reliable source who also didn’t know there was an issue. This is a huge pill to swallow but unfortunately you are correct, sir. Upon my first disassembly of this rifle’s bolt this evening which was spurred by this conversation I have come to find that the components of the bolt (firing pin carrier, flapper locks, bolt body) are not matching to this rifle. Although this is tremendously depressing, this is what this forum is for. To learn. Thank you for the knowledge leading me to this discovery, you truly have a good eye.

Regards to the rifle. That’s some impressive re-numbering imo. Far from an expert on G41’s though.

Sorry about the messed up rifle OP. I am sure most of us have been there. Such is the life of collecting sometimes, unfortunately.

Thanks for sharing though. Good reference for the forum.

Yes the renumbering was very nice, it’s one reason I hadn’t disassembled the bolt sooner. I am a Corrections Officer that works long hours, couple that with the renumbering having me fooled, it having all BLM 214 waffens, and the seller being a friend I didn’t get around to taking it apart until this evening. A real heartbreaker but a lesson learned. I have to be one of those guys that has to see everything before diving into something as expensive as this.
