Correct. The thing that tells me it's MB assembled in '43 and not MO later is the 'a' suffix after the serial number in the barrel...

yes that's it exactly there is no marking on the right side of the receiver. So for you and to summarize it would be an ar43 assembled...

perhaps also the barrel is from the end of 1943 but the rifle could have been assembled during 1944 which would perhaps explain why...
