We just had our Missouri Valley Collector gun show here in KC over the weekend. Never disappoints. Each year I attend I always find something. This year I walked away with these 2 p38's.. Not entirely good deals but also, not easy to find guns. First up is the Mauser 42.

I did not. Took it to trade at the Wannenmacher gun show in Tulsa and ended up selling it. Not nearly as much as it is now.

Yes I do have more work in those areas I did try a few other chemicals to remove it. Maybe not alcohol but I believe a member on a previous post mentioned the Citristrip

Cracks are from the shellac. And yes, it has been sanded. Still overall thought it was a good purchase.

Hard to make out original numbers on bayonet. Ive been on the lookout for a wz.29. Even in its rougher condition i'm still pleased to have one in my collection now.

No stamps that I see anywhere on the wood.... I take this back. Looks like there is a faint mark.
