looks like an "assembled" bolt. Bolt body is Mauser O. Very odd would be near unseen on a steyr rifle. All quote matching vk98's have steyr roughly made bolts with ser #. A CZ safety is an non issue on any late war assy. as they were using up everything at that point.
this is a m35 shell that was re-worked later and the rough paint was added. Then a nice spray camo was added in the tricolor camo used later in the war..

This happens far too often IMHO... The "hey how'd I do " threads typically don't end well. Its an auction he bid and bid and paid what the market would bear. He wasnt forced or tricked into buying the rifle.

I've had some nice one's over the years. From ww1-ww2. Right now all I have a is a mint ac40 or 41 Walther SS KM double. I see you have the anodized variant there.
Id say these pistols fall into the same category as the Byf44 L -- Svw45C blocks .. Lots or flip flopping lots of combo's of blued and phosphated parts right to the end.
