Hi there,
Come across this carcano claimed to be German rework. It has the HzaJt3 stamp.
Appreciate views on this as unsure if someone got hold of a M41 and just moodied a fake stamp on it. (Looks quite hmm clear ?)

It looks ok to me, but I would pass on this one. Metal is in rough shape and stock is coated in something. You can do much better.

Thanks, o I have much worse looking metal than that in my collection don't worry ! (200 year old muskets as an example !)
What mods did the Germans do on these (if any) , or am I totally reliant on that one stamp ?

Ingolstadt didn't mod these Carcanos at all. Thorn seems to have blued and maybe numbered bolts. Very late Italian production guns sometimes have front sight bases cut for a hood.

I fully respect RyanE's assessment on stuff, but this one might clean up better than expected. The metal is pitted for sure. A careful, non-intrusive cleaning could yield something better than expected for the stock, though. Your call.

It doesn't look like your front sight was cut for a hood, but your rifle is very early for that. I've tracked those on and off, and haven't seen any Terni M41's with a front sight base cut before the 'AW' block.

Dont want to lower the tone, but with me for the last 10 years especially, stamps are guilty until proven innocent. I always check this ******'s site and I have seen this. Just in case you are not aware. Not sure if it matches, by glance it does not
I flipped the image

So how were these stamped on the heel? Were these done with a concave die to facilitate the convex curve of the stock or just a flat cut die?

Decided to pass on this. Perhaps i need my head read. Thanks for your help anyway!

In addition to having a blued bolt, check the rear sight numbering too. Germans reworks often polished the numbering. If you have a picture, please share. Here's an example:
