1940 mod.98

Hi I am posting here fory 85 year old dad. He has a 1940 mod 98 and has some questions. I am going to try to send some pictures if someone can help identify this. It is not complete and not in great condition but he's trying to piece it back together. If anyone could help. Thank you for your time.

It's missing the bolt action also

It's a JP Sauer. Ideally you'd want an early Sauer bolt, a handguard and milled bandspring and early h style front barrel band.

Just know that getting the right part, may actually not “fit”. Band springs may be a mm or two too long, and bands may not slide easily over the wood as you’d expect. Similarly, a hand guard may be problematic. Conversely, bolts typically fit well.
