WTK: Weird marked luger? 1915 DWM.

Hey Y’all,

Here is a weird luger I found posted. Not the type I want specifically, but the marks on this part are confusing me. I know it isn’t a Finnish gun, but the mix of stamping is what’s throwing me off. Would appreciate any help out of just intrigue.

Owner says it was a bringback. No import marks anywhere.

What I can read looks like "S.A. TX" (San Antonio Texas), so its probably an import mark.

Darn, if it is I’ll have to break it to him that he’s been lied too. He bought it and was told it was a bringback! Said the prior owner had got it from their grandfather.

Wonder who imported it if so. Unless it is something else, but I doubt it. It just looks too… “unprofessional” to be an import mark to me if that makes sense?

That’s exactly what I see. It’s a common import mark location on Lugers as well.

I informed them, and they seemed happy to know. They might keep it now but are sad to have been lied to by whom they purchased it.
