What do you think about this rifle? It's bit rough in condition but to me it seems correct and all matching. A gunshop is asking only 850€/925$.

I think it at least action, bolt and barrel might be refinished? And what about those serial numbers in butstock? Are those typical looking for any particular country if this has been captured rifle.

Finish looks very RC-ish to me. Pretty sure that stock is off a Portuguese rifle.

don’t know what your local market is like. Might be overpriced. In the US that would be a bit high imo, but not insane given that regular RCs go for $600-800 these days.

Dunno. A lot would depend on what the other local options are.

Wouldn't RC be most likely mixed parts?

It is a Portuguese diverted rifle. 1937 is when the first contract was placed. I believe to help subsidize the overall numbers they diverted standard production rifles to be included in the first order while the engineering changes were made. Hard to tell the block number from the picture. I have an O block that is similar to yours. Common for them to have that pitting at and below the wood line.

Im just going by that wonky finish. People did a lot of weird stuff to RCs to “correct” them when they were cheap. Twenty years ago you’d find part number exchange threads in forums like this, and eBay listings of parts by number.

I’m not saying it’s impossible the parts match legitimately but I’d want to see things like wear patterns to make the call.
