I am liking the mount but would like to see more pictures. Please post them if you can. Thanks

Lever in white .... Mount in black .... No serial number .... and subtel differences ....

It's French mount , assembled with leftover parts after the war for G43 in Indo .

No doubt Kurtz57 .....

The lever looks like it is phosphate, not in the white. And 214 mounts tend to appear blackish in color. I would still like to see better pictures.

Here is an example of an original mount that is un-numbered with a phosphate lever and black colored mount.

Hi gentlemen
Thank you verry much for your opinions.
Here above 2 more pics. Locking lever is phosphated like your exemplar mdarnell19.
Best regards

Here are pictures of a numbers matching mount/rifle sniper. It also has a phosphate lever. Do you believe that this mount is also fake because it has a "in the white" lever and black colored mount? We have seen several other parts late in the war phosphated why is it so hard to believe that levers were also? Late 214 mounts are a dark blue almost black color. Believe provide more reason for why you don't think they are war time.

We are here to learn and share info. I have heard rumors, over the years, of French post war use of ZF4 mounts. They have just been stories (like much of the G43 inf. available) and no actual hard evidence. Additional data would be greatly appreciated!

I have obtained 214 mounts with phosphated levers on them...directly from WWII veterans, some with numbers and some without. You will also start to see phosphated band screws/dowels being used on ZF4 mounts late in the war it seems.

It is also my belief that wartime 214 made mounts were black in color...which is bluing...just like every G/K43 receiver made by BLM, that I have seen. They are blued...most parts on BLM G/K43s are blued, especially early on in the war.

Mount is original 214 with the common faded "black matt paint" finish. 214 mounts differ greatly from 359 mounts in finish and assembly if you know what you're looking at. It is uncommon to find 214 mounts with phosphate pressure levers but they do exist. I would like to see a picture of the bottom of the mount and I could tell you if it was a late war mount or not. This set has been altered though, the screws are not original which suggest that the dowels and bands are suspect. Rubber eye cup is original to 214 mounts. Without better pictures, the leather cover is suspect. At some point, the early ddx scope replaced the original scope to the mount. What I find interesting is the rain shield. Without better pictures, it appears to be an early original one without the re-enforcing stamps in the fingers/prongs. It is my opinion that these early ones are harder to find than the late 5-prong rain shields. It is extremely hard to find an original complete scope/mount set, but an un-numbered 214 mount is rare and if the price is right, you have a nice find there.

Off of the subject, but is this rifle an “a” block or “d” block? Looks like an “a” block, but hard to pin point it.
