Hey all. Found this at an antique shop on the road today and didn’t know what it was till now.

Anyone know a value of it? Might go get it but its a haul (3hr each way) and want to make sure its worth it.

Poor condition with foggy lenses. Still see through but bad. No front sight.

Is it worth that and a 3hr drive each way
Also I would actually ask the antique shop if anything else comes with this scope like a carry case you never know. And to tell you the truth this is not a commonly found scope set. I saw a really nice scope and case at the SOS show this year and it was very expensive price tag of about $4,000. I probably would have bought it if it were not for that expensive price tag. You just don't find these very often here in the states. Even this scope in that condition to the right collector it's probably worth close to $600-$800 IMO. But the value scale is tough to go by I just don't see enough representative examples that have sold.

Your thumb is covering the area where it should again have the scope serial on it. I think that one surely will bring $ 1000-2000 if not more, despite the condition. They are very rare and not many have survived. This was just a magnifying scope, the reticle was the front sight. So if you can see through and it gives you a magnification, everything is fine. Also remember it is a large eye relief scope, so you have to place it at a certain distance to your eye to be able to see something. If you end up buying it, please post more pictures of it in here. And if you buy it for resale and a profit, we do have a trader section in here and I'm very sure there are some persons in here who would be very happy to buy this scope from you.

Thank you for more clarification on the value Georg. I believe more of these Scopes are found in Europe than here in the states. I've only ever seen one for sale in person before and that was at the SOS show this year. That's scope did have the original case and the manual with it but I believe it was priced at around 4,000 it was really nice though.
