Well, guess what .. after last September I stumbled upon a commercially proofed bcd4 rifle (see this thread: http://www.k98kforum.com/showthread.php?37913-Commercially-proofed-bcd4-coded-K98k ) I ran into its brother. The rifle from September was serial 1152, and I now found serial 1177 - so exactly 25 digits away!
As the one from September this one is based on a bcd4 coded receiver. The bolt is C6 and faint circled Z coded on bottom, so a Czech bolt. The receiver appears to have been in a vise, at least the traces visible on it suggest that. Since these are under the original blueing I suppose they are from assembly. As some might know, Gustloff barrels are fitted extremely tight and the toughest to be removed. Maybe this was the case with this receiver as well, so whoever assembled this rifle had issues to remove the defective barrel. But just a wild guess.
The magazine guard is an early Mauser trigger guard, note the small eagle 63 proofs on them. It was reused, the original serial had been lined out. Also note the stock crossbolt is eagle 655 accepted, so yet another Mauser part. Additionally the rear action screw has a small eagle 63 acceptance on it.
The firing proof on this rifle is August 1944, so identical to the other rifle, as the serial would had suggested this anyway.
Looking forward to comments, especially looking for information on the barrel code and what you can tell me on the barrel!
