I know this is pre WWII but I know there are members that collect all types of German arms so I thought someone may have some thoughts.
I picked up this Walther Model 4 over the weekend. I wanted to get some thoughts about numbers engraved on the right hand side of the slide. I person I bought it from thought they might be some type of police markings?

Nice looking example. Not too much info in my book. Give ya what I found. .32 ACP, 8 shot, 3 1/2 inch barrel, fixed sights. Mfg. from 1910-1928. Added value if WW1 Eagle Proofs on gun.

its the first pistol I ever bought. Its a later one post war with fine slide serrations. The wartime I mean ww1 variants have the course serrations. Have no clue as to those numbers.
