Waffenamt codes WaA655

Hi

What is the most common Waffenamt codes on Mauser Oberndorf 1938 (42) these are found both with WaA63 and with WaA655, as I know they overlap in both 1938 and 1939

1938 should be exclusively e/63 with all but earliest being Nazi eagles. '39 follows suit and really only by 1940 is e/655 a factor.
 
So as I understand, a 42 from 1939 with WaA655 it not that common, a friend of mine do have one with x prefix, so late in 1939.
It have the WaA655 all over, it is a bolt mm, so I do not have a clue about how the original bolt was.

Well it was a mix in the u and w block with e/655 taking over so it would seem by x it was complete. Your friends was in the last month or so of production.
